Thank you to Allison Alderman, Ben Bostick, Braden Cuson, JJ Henes, Tristan Magel, Jake Morgan, Kylie Rigda, Elena Runion, Austin Sennhenn, Jacob Stempowski, and Regan Thomas for their help with the Math Challenge Competition on Tuesday. These students gave up their school day and volunteered to stay after school to take on the responsibility of making sure the challenge day was organized and efficient. Thank you 8th graders for setting examples of leadership and responsibility. We are so proud of you!

Tuesday, May 8
The girls track team finished 8th in the conference meet over the weekend.  Scoring for the girls team were Yamelix Tapia who finished 5th in the 100m hurdles and 7th in the 200m hurdles, Kelsey Kovacs who placed 5th in the mile, Andrea Whitman who took 8th in the long jump, Aurora Davila who placed 5th in the discus, the 4 by 1 team of Riley Helbig, Hayley Gregory, Bristol Bachman, and Yamelix Tapia finished in 8th place, the 4 by 2 team of Andrea Whitman, Kayla Bosak, Attalie Updegrove, and Dominique Walls took 2nd place, and Dominique Walls also finished 4th in the 400m dash and 2nd in the 800m run.  Fantastic season ladies!
The boys team also competed in the conference meet over the weekend and came away with a PAC Championship!  Scoring for the boys team were Kevin Seaman taking 6th in the 110m hurdles, John Wargo placing 8th in the mile, AJ Stroud finishing 4th in the 800m run, the 4 by 1 team of Nolan Kinas, Chase Dillen, Gideon Lampron, and Tristan Magel took 7th place, the 4 by 2 team of Nolan Kinas, Kevin Seaman, Chase Dillen, and Tristan Magel finished in 6th place, Gideon Lampron taking 7th in the shot put, Aiden Rodachy with a 4th place finish in discus, Dustin Bays placing 5th in the discus, Evan Maiden finishing 7th in the 100m dash, 2nd in the high jump and 2nd in the long jump, a 2nd place finish by the 4 by 4 team of Cody Greene, John Wargo, AJ Stroud, and Stephen Faltay, Stephen Faltay with 1st place in the 800m run and 1st place in the mile with a time of 4 minutes and 55 seconds, and Ryne Shackelford with 1st place finishes in the 100m dash, 200m dash, and 400m dash.  Fantastic season guys, way to represent for our school!  If you see any of these athletes please congratulate them on a job well done!

The Colorguard is the flag team that performs alongside the band during all football games, festivals and parades. There will be an informational meeting for all potential colorguard members today at 2:45 in the band room. This is open for all students currently in grades 8-11 and will be at Keystone High School next fall. Please let Ms. Stratton at KHS or Mr. Benzin at KMS if you are interested and unable to make the meeting. We hope to see you there!

On April 27, Lifetouch will take an 8th grade panoramic picture of your entire class.  Please wear your purple Keystone attire or a purple shirt. It’s almost that time of year! The Keystone High School Marching Band is preparing for their upcoming fall season. The Colorguard is the flag team that performs alongside the band during all football games, festivals and parades. This season, the band will also have a performance in Myrtle Beach during Spring Break 2019!
There will be an informational meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 25th at 2:45 in the band room. This is open for all students currently in grades 8-11 and will be at Keystone High School next fall. Please let Ms. Stratton at KHS or Mr. Benzin at KMS if you are interested and unable to make the meeting. We hope to see you there!
